Rimu Year 8 Camp 2012

Camp was held in the first week of term 2. Room 41 & 42 headed up to camp on Monday and returned on Friday. The teachers organized activities for Monday & Tuesday. Our main activity days were Wednesday & Thursday.

I'm proud that I tried all of the high ropes course. I thought activities like these are going to be fun, but the fear kicks in as soon as I got harnessed up. Once I was lowered to the ground after our first activity, posties walk, I felt more confident and I eventually tried all the other activities.

It made me laugh when Mr Smith was on the walkie talkie with Mr Hart. Mr Smith asked how many hits had Mrs Mills taken, Mr Hart replied "she has taken several shots in the head". Everyone laughed. He then said " she has also taken several shots to the gluteus maximus". All the kids bursted with laughter.

The most rewarding part was doing the rabbit run. I had only taken one hit before the rabbit run. My mum said on the Wednesday "You have to get at least 10 bruises, if you don't get enough in the game you have to do the rabbit run". I had never got shot in paintball before so I did not know what it would feel like to get hit. I sucked it up and ran up the field further I took a shot in the left shoulder, I hid behind the tree for 2 minutes then played for another 10 seconds before my gun ran out of gas.
