The Big Bang Theory
Scientists believe that the universe came into existences 13.7 billion years ago with a massive explosion called the big bang. The event marked the beginning of time. In 1927 Georges Lemaître proposed the big bang theory. The theory says that all the matter in the universe was compressed into a small dot then in a fraction of a second the dot expanded.
