Curling is an international game that is held in the Winter Olympics. The first international event of curling was held in the 1924 olympic games. Curling is mainly played on ice. Curling could otherwise be known as chess on ice. A curling team consists of 4 people.
It can be played by both genders and any ages can compete. The aim of the game is to roll the curling stone onto the target. One game consists of ten rolls, from there all of your points would be tallied up for your grand total. The two or more teams playing would then compare scores. The team with the higher score wins.
One person rolls the curling stone down the center of the lane. Two people from the team of four sweep the ice in front of the curling stone in order for it to travel farther. If they want it to slow down they will make the ice rougher by scratching it. The other person will either score or be the substitute.
Whilst curling people wear curling gloves/mittens and specialized shoes with smooth soles to allow grip on the ice. The equipment needed are curling stones, stopwatches, curling gloves & brooms.
