Complete A Sport For One Season P5
Athletics
Overall: I have competed in athletics for 3 years now and have won various awards. I have earned over 30 first place ribbons, over 30 second place ribbons and 20 or more thirds and fourths. I have received 3 trophies(one of which is not in the photo as I have recently earned it.) I have won 7 medals(2 club champs placing, 3 WBOP Games bronze medals and one North Island Colgate Games bronze.)
WBOP Champs: At the 2011 Waikato Bay Of Plenty Champs I picked up 2 bronze medals, one for discus with a throw of 19.67m and one in long jump with a jump of around 3.60m - 3.80m. My other WBOP medal was from a club relay in 2012 when I was ten, coming into the last straight we were fifth, the baton was handed to me and off I went pushing us into 3rd for the bronze medal.
Colgate Games Relay Description: In the 2012 Colgate Games my relay team won bronze again, however this race was harder because it was a national competition. We were lucky as we had not enough teams to make a race so everyone went through to the final. The next day we had our finals, this time I was running the third leg of the race."My Corner". We had the home advantage as the event was held at the Tauranga Domain. All of the parents of the Greerton athletes were screaming their hearts out. I passed it to one of my best friends at the time for the final leg. He sped out into the lead but slipped on the slightly wet suface and slowed down, luckily he managed to keep up the pace and finish third. On the final day of the event my team mates and I gathered in the Greerton tent for the briefing before we received our medals. We heard over the speaker"10 year old boys 4x100m sprint relay medal winners please gather at the official tent immediately. We stepped up on the podium and everyone cheered, especially my mum.
What Is The Colgate Games? The Colgate games is a national competition where athletes aged 7-14 years compete in a three day athletics competition. Each competitor can only compete in 4 events, you can choose which events you want to compete in. Each year the competition is held in different locations, last year it was held in Tauranga.
Last Season: In the 2012-2013 season I earned one medal for third in overal club points, I received a certificate with all the events that I placed in at club champs and also a trophy for club representative(go to 7 or more ribbon days.)
